Used by permission. [Daviess] ROBERT WILLIAM LASHBROOK: This young brother has only been in the Baptist Ministry for a short time but has proved himself to be one of our most promising preachers. He was born at Masonville, Daviess County, Kentucky, on September 28, 1906, and is the son of Thomas J. and Cordelia Bruner Lashbrook. He is a nephew of the late Elder Norris Lashbrook and is a grandson of Elder Robert T. Bruner. He attended the grade schools at hand and graduated from the Owensboro Senior High School. He has spent some time at the Baptist Bible Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is at present a student in the Western Kentucky State Teachers College, Bowling Green, Kentucky. He labored for a period of eight years with the A. & P. and Kroger Chain Stores, for one year as a salesman for the Union Biscuit Company, and for four years as a shoe salesman. He was converted at the age of twelve and was baptized into the fellowship of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church by Elder O. M. Shultz. He later moved his membership to the Third Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky, and by this Church was licensed to preach in June, 1941. He was ordained to the ministry on August 30, 1942, by Revs. W. W. Harvey, A. F. Cagle, W. H. Rone, R. E. Humphreys, B. F. Waite, Walter Yeldell, and D. Arthur Dailey. He served Karn's Grove Church from July, 1942, to February, 1943. He has been pastor of Mt. Carmel Church, Ohio County, since July, 1942, and of Red Hill Church, Daviess County, since April, 1943. The Mt. Carmel Church recently adopted full time work. Our friend and brother married Miss Muriel Arline Cook on June 18, 1930. They have two children- Robert W. and Donald Paul. We predict a successful ministry for our brother.
