HILLERY KELLEY was born in Daviess County, Ky., Sept. 13, 1847. He was reared on a farm and educated in the district schools of this county. Since October, 1881, he has been the distiller for the Owensboro Distilling Company. He was married Jan. 7, 1875, to Ettie Hill, a native of this county, born within a mile of her husband's birth-place. They have two children--Olly, born Nov. 18, 1875, and Emma, born Nov. 28, 1877. Mr. Kelley's parents, Barnett and Frances (Hagen) Kelley, are both natives of Daviess County. They are the parents of nine children, five now living--Hillery, Edward, Lancaster, Kate and Frank. Margaret, Barnett, Emma and Robert L. are deceased. Mr. Kelley, Sr., is a farmer, and owns 116 1/4 acres of good land, ten miles west of Owensboro. Hillery Kelley and his wife are members of the Catholic church. Politically he is a Democrat. He owns ninety acres of land seven miles west of Owensboro.
