DRURY, four miles southeast of Knottsville, on the old homestead, was born, where he still lives, Jan. 29, 1842. His father, Hillary Drury, came to this county in 1832, and settled in the woods on the same tract of land Mr. Drury now occupies. Mr. Drury was educated at St. Mary's College, in Marion County. He was married in November, 1872, to Miss Genevieve Mattingly, daughter of Elias Mattingly, of Breckinridge County, Ky. They have had four children, three of whom are living--Margaret C., Mary T. and Annie M. Mr. Drury owns the undivided half of the homestead, consisting of 296 acres, and is engaged in farming and stock-raising. He is a member of the Catholic Total Abstinence Society.
