His parents were James W. and Nancy H. (Miller) Camp, natives of Virginia and Daviess County, Ky. George F. was their eldest son and second child. His parents came to Daviess County and settled on a farm in Masonville where his mother still resides. Mr. Camp married Matilda Maddux, Feb. 10, 1873. She was born in Knottsville Precinct, Feb. 27, 1852, and was a daughter of Tapley and Telitha (Pursell) Maddux. After his marriage Mr. Camp settled on a farm in Upper Town Precinct, where he remained two years and then bought his present farm. He and wife are members of the Baptist church at Bethabara. They have had two children--William W., born Sept. 24, 1875, and Lela K., born March 27, 1880, died March 4, 1881. Mr. Camp owns a fine farm of 126 acres. He is of English and Irish descent.
