BARKER is a young man of high social and private worth, of generous and noble impulses, whose every-day life is a picture of enterprise and activity and whose genial and affiable manners hold him in pleasant acquaintance by all who know him. He was born March 13, 1859, at "Glenburnie", the residence of his father. Our subject's present home is situated upon historical ground, the immediate place being one formerly occupied by an old French settlement. In consists of 670 acres of highly improved land, and is given to the cultivation of the principal staple crops.
