ALBERT T. TANDY, a farmer and stock grower, was born in Carroll County,
Ky., August 5, 1849, and is the eldest of two children born to Paschal G.
and Elizabeth (Spicer) Tandy, natives of Carroll County, Ky.  Paschal
Tandy was a son of William Tandy; he was brought up on the farm, and
received his education at the best schools in his day.  In early life he
devoted considerable attention to school teaching, but was a farmer by
occupation.  About 1845 he married Elizabeth Spicer; he died in 1851 and
she in 1885.  Albert T. Tandy was reared by his grandfather, William
Spicer, and lived with him until he was twenty-two years of age.  He
received his education at the common-schools in early life, but afterward
attended Ghent College a short time.  He has following farming in Carroll
County from boyhood.  He purchased and settled on his present farm
of 150 acres in 1881, in a very fine brick residence.  His farm is
all well improved, and lies about two and one-half miles north of Eagle
Station.  Of late he has been devoting considerable attention to the
breeding and developing of fine cattle.  September 27, 1871, he was
married to Jennie Davis, daughter of John and Sallie (Whithead) Davis,
natives of Carroll County.  The early members of the Spicer and Davis
families figured conspicuously in the Revolution and in the war of 1812.
Mr. and Mrs. Tandy are members of the Christian Church.  Mr. Tandy is
a member of the I.O.O.F.  Politically he is a Democrat.
