Kentucky: A History of the State, Perrin, Battle, Kniffin, 8th ed., 1888, Bullitt Co. FRANCIS M. MILLER was born in Shelby County, Ky., February 19, 1834, and is a son of Fleming and Susan (Holloway) Miller, natives of Virginia. He was brought up on the farm and received such an education as could be obtained in the public schools of that county. Upon attaining his majority he came to Bullitt County, and after remaining here a few years he removed to Illinois and settled in Christian County, but a few years later he returned to Kentucky, and located upon the same farm that he left on going to Illinois, convinced him that Kentucky is the best State in the Union after all. Mr. Miller was married in December, 1862, to Miss Mary Jane Miller, born December 10, 1843, and a daughter of James H. and Louisa Miller. They have one child, born February 16, 1864.
