Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, ed. 8-B Bracken County HENRY C. WEAVER was born in Bracken County, Ky., September 21, 1840, and is a son of William and Mary (Brightwell) Weaver. William Weaver, a native of Pennsylvania, grandparents of Henry C. were natives of Maryland, and were of Scotch extraction. Henry C. Weaver was reared in his native county, and received his education at Augusta. In 1861 he enlisted in Company D, Sixteenth Kentucky Federal Infantry, took part in the engagements extending from Resaca to Atlanta and Franklin, when he was promoted to the Captaincy. He was discharged in 1865 in North Carolina, and returned to Brooksville, Ky., where he read law with Judge Doniphan. In December, 1865, he married Miss Cornelia S. Wiley, a daughter of Hiram and Miria M. Wiley, of Bracken County. He was admitted to the bar in 1866, and located at Brooksville, Ky., where he engaged in the practice of his chosen profession. In August, 1870, he was elected county attorney, and served in that capacity four years. He is the father of six children, viz: Henry Brightwell, who died March 29, 1885; Benjamin W., Nellie, May, Annie M. and Jessie T. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity.
