HOBDAY, a physician and surgeon of Augusta, Ky., is a native of Orange County, Va., was born March 11, 1832, and is a son of Edward and Sarah P. (Moore) Hobday. He was reared in Pendleton County, KY., where he moved with his father's family in 1834. He began the study of medicine in 1854, and graduated from the Ohio Medical College, Cincinnati, in 1856. Two years later he married Miss Rebecca Curran, a daughter of S.B. Curran. They are the parents of six children, viz: Lenore, William M., Robert Lee, Stephen C., Anna E. and Edward J. Mr. Hobday's successors are of Scotch extraction, and came to this country about the year 1740.
