Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Boone Co. GRANVILLE V. ROUSE was born in Boone County, Ky., April 25, 1852. He was the second of four children born to Granville V., Sr., and Emily (McCatton) Rouse. Granville V., Sr., was born in Virginia, and came to Kentucky when small. He was brought up on the farm, and received a common-school education. He was a very popular man, both socially and politically, and was a member of the Legislature in 1876 and 1877 from Boone County. He died June 14, 1885. His wife still survives him. Our subject was also brought up on the farm, and received a common-school education. He settled where he now resides about 1863. December 12, 1878, he married Mary E. Head, a daughter of James and Tabbaun (Rouse) Head, of Davis [sic] County, Ky. To this union have been born five children, one daughter and four sons: Willie, Annie, Douglas, Richard and Robert (twins). Politically Mr. Rouse is a Democrat.
