Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Boone Co. WILLIAM H. CORBIN was born in Harrison County, Ky., May 25, 1821. He was the eldest of three children born to John and Pollie (Sidney) Corbin. John Corbin was born in Culpeper County, Va., and was a son of Benjamin and Nancy (Kendrick) Corbin, natives of Virginia; they moved to Kentucky at an early date, settled in Harrison County, and afterward moved to Boone County, where they lived and died. Pollie Sidney was born in Harrison County. John Corbin was a farmer by occupation, followed the same all his life, and he and his wife both died in Boone County. William H. Corbin was brought up on the farm, and received his education from the common schools. He has followed farming from boyhood, and has also traded extensively for many years. He has a farm of forty acres of valuable land, besides some valuable town property in Florence, January 5, 1854, he was married to Nancy A. Springer, a daughter of Mynard and Rosana (Shaw) Springer, natives of Kentucky. To this union ten children have been born--five daughters and five sons, viz: Mary C., Adeen, Marcoelean, Thomas, Archie, Edward, Julius, Lillie, James and Viola. Mr. and Mrs. Corbin are members of the Baptist Church. Politically Mr. Corbin is a Democrat.
