Historical Sketches of Kentucky by Lewis Collins, Maysville, KY. and J. A. & U. P. James, Cincinnati, 1847. Volume 1. Reprinted 1968. Bath County. The Methodist Episcopal Church. Page 448. BENJAMIN SNELLING entered the conference in 1788, traveled one year on the Lexington circuit, but the second year on the Fairfax circuit, Virginia. After one year he returned to Kentucky, and was appointed to the Madison circuit. His name the next year disappears from the minutes, probably by location. He settled in Bath county, where he died in 1856. Snelling = Lexington-Fayette-KY Fairfax-VA Madison-KY http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/bath/snelling.b2.txt
