He professed a hope in Christ at the age of 16 and united with the Pleasant Union Baptist church, Barren County, Ky. He attended the common schools, the Glasgow Theological and Normal Institute. He is intellectual, moral and spiritually alive to every Christian call. He taught several years in the common schools of Kentucky, afterwards retiring to take up other labors. In 1908 he was eleted recording secretary of the Liberty Association of the Missionary Baptists, which office he still holds and the delegation feels greatly honored to have a young man of his ability to do their work.
