At the age of 15 he professed a hope in Christ and has been a faithful worker for him ever since. He is a deacon of the Rocky Hill church and has been an ordained deacon of said church for about 28 years. He is an earnest worker in the Liberty Association. He has been a treasurer of the convention for 18 years and has always been able to account for every penny of money entrusted to his care. In his youth he never had the opportunity of attending school as does the youth of today, but he is a great educational worker and believer, as well as a church and Sunday School worker. He has been Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years. It is now and has always been his policy to help in the uplift of humanity.
