SID MARTIN, of Hydro, Ky., was born in June, 1856.  He is a son of Press
and Mrs. Mariah Martin.  Bro. Martin professed a hope in Christ in 1878,
being 40 years ago, and joined the Mt. Union Baptist church, of which he
is a strict member now.  He went into wedlock with Miss Lizzie Wright.
To this union there are 8 children, viz.:  Edd, Will, Dock, Ora, Stella,
Huery, Sudie and Alston.  Bro. Martin is a prayer meeting leader of the
church now and has been for 7 years.  His wife died 18 years ago,
leaving four small children; Bro. Martin reared them well and they are
worthy of a good name.
