After leaving school he assumed the superintendency of his father's farm, which he has continued up to the present time. His farm is well kept, and is in an excellent state of cultivation; he raises some good stock, but gives his attention principally to the growing of grain and tobacco. On the 29th of October, 1878, he was united in marriage with Miss Katie, daughter of John R Mosely, of Barren County; to their marriage have been born two sons: Fred B. and Charles F.
