39 I, William E. Quarles of Franklin County and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory, but having in view the uncertainty of life and that it is necessary to make a disposition of my property. I do hereby make this my last will and testament revoking and disanulling all former wills. After the payment of all my just debts my will is that all the property which I now possess, both real and personal and all which I may hereafter possess together with whatever may becoming to me from the estate of my mother at her death as also whatever may be coming from the estate of my father-in-law, John Haggin, equally divided amongst my children which are now living, viz: Nancy, William, Caroline, Sally, James, Archibald and Elizabeth. There was five hundred acres of land left by the will of my father-in-law in the state of Illinois, which I hereby authorize my Executor to sell at his discretion for the benefit of my family agreeably to the will aforesaid and I hereby constitute and appoint my wife, Elizabeth Quarles, Executrix and my brother-in-law, William McBride, Executor to have this will duly executed and carried into effect . Given under my hand and seal this 3rd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and thirty. Signed and acknowledged in presence of us: Thomas Arnold Jesse Moss William Sanford
A codicil
to the foregoing will. Whereas the aforesaid will I have neglected
to name my granddaughter, Tunstalla Quarles, and it might be thought
forgetfulness, but that is not the Wm E. Quarles
