Warfield of Maryland

Vachel Warfield was born about 1783 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He is thought to descend from Richard Warfield and Elinor Browne, through their son Alexander Warfield, born about 1677 in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Pierpoint, through their son Samuel Warfield, born about 1795 in Brandy, Anne Arundel County, Maryland and his wife Sarah Welsh and through their son William "Gerard" Warfield.

William "Gerard" Warfield was born about 1744 Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  About 1766 he married Susanna Ryan, daughter of John Ryan and Mary McCullough.  Four known children were born to this union.  Benjamin Warfield, born about 1778 in Maryland is listed among the Kentucky Soldiers of War of 1812 as a Lieutenant in the 5th Regiment; Meeshak Warfield, born about 178 in Maryland; Vachel Warfield, born about 1783 and Mary Ann Warfield, born on August 6, 1788 in Pennsylvania.  Mary married William Ephraim Penn on December 15, 1805 in Shelby County, Kentucky and died on January 17, 1861 in Jefferson County, Indiana.

Vachel Warfield

Vachel Warfield, born about 1783 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland came to Shelby County, Kentucky prior to 1810 and is listed on the census there.  January 15, 1810 in Shelby County Vachel, married Elizabeth Jackson.  By 1820, Vachel had moved to Franklin County, Kentucky where he appears on census through 1850.  The will of Vachel Warfield was written on October 14, 1855 and entered for probate in Franklin County, Kentucky Court on December 21, 1857.

Children of Vachel Warfield and Elizabeth Jackson

William Warfield, born about 1811 in Shelby County, Kentucky.  He married Elizabeth
Anderson on March 14, 1834 in Franklin County, Kentucky. Named in his fathers will
as my son William Warfield.
Ann Warfield, born about 1813 in Franklin County, Kentucky. Ann Warfield became the
second wife of John Brawner on April 16, 1849 in Franklin County, Kentucky. Ann was
named in her fathers will written as Ann Brawner.  See John Brawner Genealogy.
John Riley Warfield, born about 1814 in Franklin County.  Named in his fathers will
as my son John Warfield.  John married Mariah Miles on June 10, 1833 in Franklin
County, Kentucky.  The will of John Riley Warfield is recorded in Franklin County
Will BK 3, written February 11, 1868 and entered to probate May 1868.
Mary Polly Warfield, born about 1815 in Franklin County.  Named in her fathers will as
Polly North.  See John W. North Genealogy.
Mashach Warfield, born about 1821 in Franklin County.  He married Susan Strange in
Franklin County, Kentucky on September 17, 1849.  He is named in his fathers will
written 1855, however, died before December 21, 1857.  The will of Mashach Warfield is
recorded in Franklin County Will BK 2, written October 14, 1853 and entered to probate
on December 21, 1857.
Isaac Warfield, born about 1824 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  He married Charity
Grugin on March 21, 1848 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Named in his fathers will.
Elizabeth Warfield, born about 1827 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Elizabeth married
Elnathan Burk on August 31, 1850 in Franklin County.  She is named in her fathers
will as Elizabeth Burk.
Alexander Warfield, born about 1828 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Alexander married
Nancy Ann Grugin on March 2, 1850 in Franklin County. He is named in his
fathers will as my son Alexander.
Martha Warfield, born about 1835, probably in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Named as
Martha Warfield in the will of her father.
Emily Warfield, born about 1836, probably in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Named in
the will of her father as Emily Clark.
Delilah Warfield, born unknown.  She married Jeremiah H. Miles on March 17, 1846 in
Franklin County, Kentucky.  She is name in her fathers will as Delilah Miles.
James William Warfield, born April 25, 1854 in Franklin County, Kentucky and died May
25, 1854.  Not named in the will of Vachel Warfield.  Franklin County vital statistics death
states James William Warfield, son of Vachel and Elizabeth Warfield.
