I, Revd. Samuel Shannon of the county of Franklin and state of Kentucky, growing old and inform of body, but sound of mind and knowing that it is allotted to all men once to die
do make, constitute, and ordain, this my last will and testament in this manner and from following.  In primis my body to the earth from whence it came, and my soul to him that
gave it and touching my worldly state after paying all my just debts and funeral expenses.
First,  I will and bequeath to my loving wife one third of the land on which I now live during her natural life to be laid off as the law directs and as I wish no sale of my property.  I

wish all my horses and cows, my sheep, my household and kitchen to be valued together with all singular the property I might be possessed and that my said wife, Ann shall be
entitled to one third of the same during her natural life by bond and approved security to my Executor that there of as may not be made use of for her comfortable support shall
descend to my son Lewis S. Shannon and his heirs, I own no hogs and all the property that my son Lewis S. Shannon and Elizabeth, his wife now own together with its acreage
is not to be taken in the above described evaluation.  I also will and bequeath to my said wife, Ann Shannon as her real property to dispose of as she may think proper a certain
negro woman named Queen. Secondly, as Hankinson Reed, who married my daughter Elenor Shannon, have received of my estate, their full part according to my present
circumstances, including a negro boy that I gave them at their marriage, named Billy, which gift I hereby ratify and confirm, I wish them to receive in addition to the above forty
dollars in cash or property as the parties my agree.
Thirdly, as my son, Doct - Thomas Shannon has received his full share, I will and bequeath him twenty dollars, my latin and greek books and my silver watch, as a memento of

his brother Doct- Samuel Shannon's death and my own.
Fourthly, I will and bequeath to James Richardson, twenty dollars, who married my daughter Mary and to his son, George Madison Richardson, I will and bequeath one hundred

and twenty dollars in cash on good venable property.  Also to Thomas Shannon Richardson, the other son of the said James, I will and bequeath one hundred and twenty dollars
in cash or venable property, which two last legacies I wish places in the hands of Executors for their use until a guardian is property appointed to take charge of the same.
Fifth, It is my wish that my son, Lewis Shannon shall have and hold by deed the tract of land I now possess in Franklin County and state of Kentucky and deeded to my by

Benjamin Bennett and Major John Arnold, and if any time the above named Lewis S. Shannon may think proper to sell the whole or any part of the above land, the money or
the greater part thereof, I should wish to be laid out for other land where the said Lewis may think proper, this my fifth bequest to my said son Lewis of my land is not to interfere
with my wifes dower in the land during her lifetime and it is further my will that whatever of my estate may remain the above distribution shall descend to my son Lewis S. Shannon.
Lastly,  I appoint to this my last will and testament James Paxton, Hankinson Reed, and Doct- Thomas Shannon as Executors to see that this my will shall be executed any

two of whom may act.
Finally, this last will and testament shall not be nullified until by the consent of all the legatees and my executors.  In testimony of this my last will and testament, I have

hereunto set my hand and seal the 22nd day of November, 1821.
