I, Saml Brown, a man of color, of Franklin County do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner or form following that is to say.

1st  I desire that my cupboard and one table and one bed be given to Mary Reeves a girl of color bound to me.  I give Rachel Reeves one bureau, one table and one
bed.  The said Mary is to have choice of the tables and I give and bequeath all my little farm  or parcel of land to James Horsey on condition that he the said James
Horsey, he being a man of color, and is to live with me and my family and to take care of myself and wife and is to take choice of the above mentioned Mary and
Rachel Reeves and permit them to live with him on the said farm.  I bequeath to them until they marry or may choose to leave him voluntarily if they shall believe it
will be their interest to do so.

And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my neighbor, Ben Luckett my sole Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or
testament by me hereupon made and as there is but little property and that to be divided among the several legatees named in this my will.  I desire that my executor
shall not regard to give security.  In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of February 1842.

A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Samuel Brown, deceased, a man of color, was produced to Court and was proven by the oath of Wm. K. Taylor a

subscribing witness there of and the said W. K. Taylor proved that John W. Horsee, the other subscribing witness signed his name in his present in the present of the
deceased. Whereupon it is ordered that the said will be recorded, which is done accordingly.
