127 I Robert Alexander of Woodford County, and state of Kentucky, do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and Testament as follows: The whole of my estate in the United States of America on my decease shall be vested in my son Robert Alexander and my friends Jacob Swigert Joseph Weiseger and John H. Slaughter (who are hereby appointed by executors) in trust for the following purposes. 1st For the benefit of my wife during her life she to provide for the proper and suitable maintainance & education of our children. 2. In the event of the death of my wife, then my said estate to be for the benefit of each of my children domiciled in the United State, in equal portions. The trustees or a majority of those who may accept the trust, with the concurrence of my son Robert, though he should not act unvested with full power and authority to dispose of all or any of the property thus vested in them and to reinvest the proceeds in other propery & funds which they may think more profitable or beneficial and safe. The Trustees shall retain the title to the property which may fall to my daughters or convey it in trust to other trustees so as to prevent its being squandered and thus enable my children to retain the use and benefit of it. If my son Alexander John Alexander should become an inhabitant of Great Britain, as heir to the Airdrie estate and should take possession whereof as such then his portion of my estate in the United States of America shall be divided between the two or three children who remain here. I hereby bequeath to Robert my eldest son all the right title & interest which I posses or may have a claim in Great Britain. If any event should put it out of the power of my son Robert to take possession of the Airdrie estate, on the death of his uncle William & myself then he is to share my estate in the United States with my other children who are inhabitants of the United States. Advances may be made to any of the children when it my be deemed by the trustees to be necessary or proper; but the money expended in the education and support of any of them is not to be made a charge against them when a division or settlement my take place my Trustees judicating may if they think it expedient when about to deliver over to my youngest son, his portion of my estate convey it in trust to another if they think it would not be prudently managed by him; but I hope it will not be necessary to restrict him in the absolute control of his property. Witness my hand & seal this twenty second day of May Eighteen hundred & thirty nine.
