11 In the name of God Amen, I Peter Samuel of the county of Woodford and being rich in wealth in body, but in sound mind and memory do make and proclaim this my last will and testament in form following. First, I desire my just debts to be paid - Item, I give to my daughter, Ann Samuel, one negro woman, Phebe, which she has now in possession to her. And, her heirs forever lawfully begotten of her body, and for want of such to return to my two sons, John and Reuben Samuel to be equally divided between them. Item, I give to my son John Samuel, on negro woman, Jinny, daughter of old Jinny, also on bed and furniture and one bay mare by the name of Diamond. Item, I give to my son Reuben Samuel, one negro woman, Hannah. Also one bed and furniture and my young mare by the name of Lucy. Likewise, I give my negro boy, Armistead to my son Reuben Samuel after the death of my wife, Susannah Samuel. But, my will and devise is that my wife, Susannah Samuel shall have the use of the said negro Armistead, also Jack, Old Jinny, Sarah and George, the land an plantation where on I now live, the remainder of the black household goods and kitchen furniture during her natural life and at her death, I give the four negroes Jack, Jinny, Sary and George to my three children; Ann Samuel, John and Reuben Samuel to be equally divided among them. But, should me said daughter, Ann Samuel, died without heirs lawfully begotten of her body, my will is that my said two sons shall have the four last negroes equally divided among them. Item, I give the land whereon I now live to my two son, John and Reuben Samuel at the death of my wife to be equally divided among them, I also give all the remainder of my stock to my three children; Ann, John and Reuben Samuel after the death of my wife to be equally divided among them and their heirs forever. Item, The land I claim on accounts, I devise to be equally divided among my three before mentioned children as soon as it is convenient for them to do it. But, as I before mentioned if my daughter, Ann Samuel should die without an heir lawfully begotten of her body, the said land shall be equally divided between my two sons, John and Reuben Samuel. Lastly, I appoint my wife, Susannah Samuel and my son John Samuel, Executors to this my last will and testament. Given under my hand this 22nd day of December 1791. Peter Samuel - his mark
