171 In the name of God Amen, I Peter Dudley of the county of Franklin & State of Kentucky do make this my last Will & Testament. First I direct that my just debts be paid. Second, I give to my beloved wife Maria G. Dudley my entire estate of every description real person & mixed for & during the term of her natural life and at her death. I give the house & lot on which I live in Frankfort to John B. Lindsey in trust for the sole & separate use of his wife Hellen Maria Lindsey & her children, hereby authorizing & empowering the said John B. Lindsey trustee as aforesaid to sell & convey the said house & lot with the consent & approval of his aid wife and to reinvest the proceeds of such sale in other productive property or securities for the same uses & trust. I also give to John B. Lindsey for the same uses & trust twenty five shares of Stock in the Northern Bank of Kentucky with similar power of deposition & reinvestment. My farm in Franklin County I direct to be sold at my wifes death or at any time during her life when she may wish it. In the latter event I desire that the proceeds of the sale shall be invested in some sale & productive security during my wifes life and the income thereof to be paid to her as it occurs. At her death I wish the proceeds of the sale of the far to be divided into eight shares, of which one shall be given to John B. Lindsey in trust for his wife Hellen Maria Lindsey as above, two shares shall be given to my grand nephew James Garrard Dudley in trust for the use of his wife & children and one share each to Margaret E. D. Smith, Mary Aldridge, William T. Dudley, Isham T. Dudley and A. Theodore Dudley, children or my nephew Ambrose W. Dudley. I do not include my death niece Maria G. Winston in this disposition simply because I believe that she does not need my assistance. Also at my wifes death I give ten shares of stock in the Northern Bank of Kentucky to my nephew James G. Dudley in trust for his son Peter Dudley, and ten shares of the same stock to ELiza T. Smith daughter of E. H. & M. E. D. Smith and ten shares of Stock in the Bank of Kentucky to each of my niece & nephew Dudley Talbot & Maria Dudley Talbot, children of William G. Talbot, decd.. All my remaining estate not specifically disclosed of by this will I leave to be disposed of by my wife at her own pleasure. I appoint my wife Maria G. Dudley and my nephew Ambrose W. Dudley, Executrix and Executor of this my last will and direct that the same be required of either of them. And I give full power & authorization to my Executrix & Executor and to either of them who may act to carry out fully the purposes of this will and to make suck deeds & conveyances as may be necessary to pass fully the title to any portion of my property which they or either of them acting may sell in accordance with my will. In testimony of all which I have hereto set my hand this 10th day of June 1869. In closing this paper I direct that five shares of Norther Bank Stock be given to my friend Mrs. Letitia Garrard, widow of Col. James Garrard, decd.. as a testimonial of my gratitude for her kindness during my sickness. P. Dudley
