In the name of God Amen, I Katherine Gatewood being of sound mind and bodily afflicted knowing that I must shortly depart this life do make this my last will and testament
in manner and form as follows, to wit:
1st.   I will my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it came.

2nd.  I direct my executor herein after named to pay my debts and funeral expenses out of my affects not otherwise disposed of in this my will.
3rd.  I will my daughter Sally F. Gatewood a deep red jersey heiffer, one bed sted, the carpet on the front room floor, one stand table and the extension table and the buggy

and the cubboardware and the bald mare and cane bottom chairs and bed bolster and 2 pillows.
4th  I owe my son, Wm. Gatewood six dollars and I leave him ten head of hogs for the debt. He is to have a bed and a bolster and pillows.
5th. I will and bequeath to Jas. Gatewood, son of John W. Gatewood a 2 year old pole red heiffer.
6th.  I direct my executor to have my land estate consisting of about one hundred and thirty six aces equally divided in value among my heirs; Eliza J. Pryor is to be made
equal in the land division during her natural life and at her death to come back to my heirs or their representatives and also my daughter, Emma Martin interest in the land
at her death to come back to my children or their representatives.
7th.  I direct my executor to sell the remainder of my estate not otherwise disposed of by this my will and after paying my debts and funeral expenses to be equally divided
among my children or their representatives.  The testator of this will is a citizen of the county of Franklin and State of Kentucky.
8th.  I appoint and nominate my son Wm. Gatewood my executor to this my last will revoking all former wills by me made, this 9th April 1887.

Monday, October 3rd, 1887
This day came William Gatewood and offered for probate as the last will of Katherine Gatewood, deceased, a  paper signed by her and dated April 9th, 1887, which paper
was proved by the oaths of J. A. Carter and J. W. McConnel the subscribing witnesses thereto to have been subscribed by said decendent in their presence and that said
paper was acknowledged by said Katherine Gatewood on the 9th day of April 1887 in the presence of both said J. A. Carter and J. W. McConnel to be her last will and
testament and that they the said J. A. Carter and J. W. McConnel subscribed said will their names in the presence of Katherine Gatewood.  Whereupon it is ordered that
said paper be amitted to probate and recorded as the last will and testatment of said Katherine Gatewood, deceased, which is now done.
