In the name of God Amen
I John W. Russell of Franklin County, Kentucky being somewhat advanced in age and not in very good heath but of sound mind and disposing memory
do make this my last will and testament hereby revolking all previous wills made by me, Viz
1st   I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid
2and  I devise to my beloved wife Ann Maria Russell in case she should survive me one equal third part in value of all my real estate for and during her
natural life only to be laid off by commissioners appointed by the County Court as in cases of assignment of dower.  And bequeath to her absolutely one
equal third part of the net personalty of my estate.
3rd  If I should die before my youngest daughter Ann P. Russell's education is completed it is my will and I hereby direct that her education shall be
completed so that she will be equal in that regard with my other daughters and this to be done at the expence of my estate and not charged to her in
the division hereafter provided.
4th  All the rest and residue of my estate I will and devise to be equally divided between my five children, viz, Cordelia T. Gaines, wife of Thomas Gaines,
John Crittenden Russell, Margaret J. Russell, Mary B. Russell and Anna P. Russell.
5th  That part of my estate devised and bequeathed to my daughter Cordelia T. Gaines - the title thereto is vested in trustees viz; W. A. Gaines and
H. St. Julian to hold the same for the sole and separate use of my said daughter free from any debts or liability of her husband but with power in the
said trustees to sell exchange and reinvest the same as she by her writing over her own signature may direct and they approve  - The said trustees not
to be required to give any security for the performance of their trust.
6th  I hereby appoint William A. Gaines, Executor of this my last will and testament.  Also Henry St. Julian Executor of this my last will and testament
and they are not to be required to give security for the performance of the duties herein required of them.
In witness whereof I hereto subscribe my name to this my last will and testament this 1 day of September Eighteen hundred and sixty eight.

A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John W. Russell, deceased, was this day produced in Court and proved by the oaths of
A. J. James and J. B. James subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.  Which is truly done.
