In the name of God Amen I James Shannon of the city of Frankfort & State of Kentucky do make this my last will & testament.
Item 1st.  I will & bequeath to my brother in law Samuel B. Clark & Nancy his wife now residing in Pike county, Missouri One thousand dollars ($1000).
Item 2nd.  I will & bequeath to Kate Harvy the daughter of Ann Harvy a former servant of mine, said Kate is a very fair mulatto and was as my property on the
22nd day of December 1858 - Two hundred dollars ($200.00).
Item 3rd.   I will & bequeath all the remainder of my estate of every kind to my niece Susan Ally wife of Nelson Ally of the city of Frankfort Ky.
Item 4th.  I hereby appoint Nelson Alley Executor of this my last will desiring that he be permitted to qualify without giving security.
Witness my hand & seal this 15th August 1868.

A writing purporting to be the last Will & testament of James Shannon, decd. was produced in Court & proved by the oaths of W. H. Greenup & Will B. Gay
the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.  Whereupon said will is truly recorded in my office.
