I John R. Moor of Franklin County State of Kentucky, do make ordain and publish this as my last will and testament.
First, It is my will and desire that after my death all my just debts & funeral expenses be first paid. Second, It is my
will and desire that my son John when he arrives at the age of twenty one years shall have a horse Saddle a decent
dress coat and a gun and also that my daughter Catherine shall have at that age unless she should marry before
then at her marriage one cow and calf, a side saddle bed bedstead & furniture which will make them equal with my
other children. Second, It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Rachel shall have during her life to widowhood
my three slaves Sarah, Miranda Jane and Ann also the tract of land on which she now lives and my stock, farming
utensils and crops provisions household furniture of which I may die possessed for the support of herself and the
support and education of my two youngest children.
Third, It is my will and desire that all my interest in the estate or proceeds of my father, Elnathan Moore, deceased,
if there be a sufficient amount to be approprated by my executor herein named to the purchase a negro boy to aid
and assist my wife during her life or widowhood aforesaid in cultivation the farm and raising and educating my two
youngest children, but should there not be a sufficiency of my interest in said estate for this purpose then by said
wife if she think proper may sell dispose of any of my personal estate to aid in the purchase of said boy. Fourth,
It is my will and desire that at the death or marriage of my said wife as aforesaid all my estate both real and
personal be equally divided among my seven children; viz, Elizabeth M. Witt, James D. Moor, Ellnathan Moor,
Mary Ann Smith, Jackson Moor, John Moor and Catherine Moor or their children or the descendants of the children
of such of them as many may be dead at the marriage or death of my said wife. Lastly, I hereby appoint my
son-in-law Mitchell Smith executor of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand and seal this 29th day of
November 1849.

A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John R. Moore, dec'd was produced in Court and was proven
by the oaths of Robert C. McKee and William O. Ellis, subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be record. Whereupon
the same is truly received in my office.
