144 I, James Haydon, of the County of Franklin and state of Kentucky, being of sound mind, but but in bad health and knowing the uncertainty of life do make and ordain this as my last will and testament revolking all others this 8th day of April 1840, to wit: Item 1st. That after my death it is my will that a sufficiency of my estate out of the perishable property (which my wife can best spare) shall be sold to pay my debts and my burial expenses. And after which my wife Susannah Haydon shall enjoy the benefit of the residue both real and personal during her natural life.

2nd. It is my will that after the death of my said wife that the balance
of my said estate shall be sold and out of which I will to Fountain T. Haydon
forty-five dollars and to

3rd. As to my other six children to wit; Will G. Haydon, Thomas Haydon,
Benjamin Haydon, James Haydon, Innes I. Haydon and Mary Bartlett, I have
theretofor advanced to

4th. I appoint my son Fountain T. Haydon my executor to carry this my will
into effect and as I am very little in debt request that the County Court
shall suffer him to administer James Haydon
