In the name of God amen.  I, John A. Carter of the County of Franklin and state of Kentucky, being of sound mind, but bodily afflicted knowing my time here on earth

is close approaching, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form to wit:
1st  I surrender my sole to god who gave it and my body to the earth from which it came.
2nd.  I desire my executor to pay all of my just debts and funeral expenses.
3rd.  For love and affection and kindness I will to my wife, Sallie E. Carter all of my household and kitchen furniture, except two beds and furnishing, one for my daughter
Lucinda and the other for my son W. H. Carter.  I also will to my wife my house and lot in the Village of Switzer.  known as the __ property including land I bought of
J. H. Switzer.  She is to have my surry or whatever vehicles I may have at my death including the harness. She is to have choice of one of my horse stock, she is to
have 2 choice of milk cows, she is to have all of the foltny on hand at my death, she is to have one year provision if any of these things named is not on hand at my
death she is to have a reasonable allowance of any available means of my estate to make up said deficiencies.
4th Having advanced to my daughter Lou F. Baker two thousand five hundred dollars in real estate besides various other property not charged to her this is all she is to
have of my estate.
5th  Having advanced to my daughter Emma C. Henry two thousand dollars in real estate and various other property not charged and having paid some money as surety
for her husband, A. C. Henry, therefore this is all she is to have of my estate.
6th  Having advanced to my son S. T. Carter two thousand dollars in real estate and other property outside of these advances I have made I have sold him 18 acres of
land at $15.00 per acre which amount he must pay my estate.
7th.  I have advanced to my daughter V. B. Thompson fifteen hundred dollars in cash and various other property not named and for good cause this is all she is to have
of my estate.
8th.  I have advanced to my son W. H. Carter fourteen hundred dollars in real estate and six hundred dollars in money making in all two thousand dollars  I have provided
two thousand dollars for the benefit of my afflicted daughter, Lucinda Carter which is to be left in the hands of W. H. Carter who I appoint as her guardian without surety.
I direct him to make such arrangements with S. T. Carter for her protection during her natural life whoever takes care of her as long as she lives is to have the two thousand
dollars.
I direct my executor hereinafter named to sell all of my affects at such time and on such terms as they may think best for my estate and after providing with directions of the
will whatever may be left of my estate I direct them to pay over to my wife Sallie E. Carter after deducting payment for their services.  I revoke all former will made be me.
I appoint as my executor my two sons S. T. Carter and W. H. Carter without surety.

In the matter of the probates of the will of John A. Carter, deceased.  This day came Sallie E. Carter, the widow of John A. Carter, deceased by her attorney and produced a
paper purporting to be the last will and testament of said John A. Carter, deceased of which the above and foregoing is a recorded.
