In the name of God Amen, I, Edgecomb S. Slaughter, being in perfect health and memory, but calling to mind the mortality of man do constitute and appoint this my last will and
testament in manner and form to wit:  Item, I bequeath unto my beloved sister, Martha Slaughter, all my real and personal estate to her and her heirs forever.  In testimony whereof,
I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this twenty first day of April, one thousand, seven hundred and ninety one.

At a Court held for Franklin County on Tuesday, the 26th day of November 1799
A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Edgecomb S. Slaughter was produced in Court and proved by the oath of Phillip Buckner, subscribing witness thereto which
is ordered to be recorded.
