David Zook Miller

David Zook Miller, son of Aaron Miller and Mary Zook, was born in Franklin County, Kentucky on January 2, 1814. His birthday was recorded by his son, Sidney, who also mentioned his Uncle Joe.  As a thirty six year old, David is found on the Franklin County, Kentucky 1850 census in the household of his mother, Mary, and his sister, Mary.  His father, Aaron Miller, probably deceased. He dropped from the county tax rolls after 1842.

David Miller married, Eliza Grable, the widow of Isaac Teague.  Eliza is listed on the Jefferson County, Kentucky 1850 census in the household of her parents, Samuel and Rebecca Grable.  No marriage record has been located, however, David Z. and Eliza are shown as parents of Sidney Malcolm Miller in 1854 birth records for Franklin County.  In September 1857, David, purchased property in Lafayette County, Missouri.  After a year he sold it to his brother, Joseph D. Miller. On the 1860 census for Waverly, Lafayette County, Missouri, David and Eliza are listed with his stepchildren.  In later census, David Z. Miller , farmer, was located near Elmwood, Saline County, Missouri.

David Zook Miller died on December 24, 1898, about a month after his son-in-law, William Perry Williams.  David and Eliza are buried in the South Fork Cemetery, south of Sweet Springs, Missouri.
