Arabella Scott Welch Bryan

Arabella Scott Welch was the daughter of Sylvester Welch and the granddaughter of
Col. John Mitchell Scott.  She married Edward Bryan an agent for the Louisville &
Nashville Railroad.  Ed built their large brick home in Jett about 1883 and called it
Glen Mary.  Ababella Scott Welch Bryan was born on November 14, 1848 and died on
March 17, 1932.  Edward P. Bryan was born July 2, 1845 and died January 3, 1910.
Arabella and Ed are buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.

The house was later sold to W. J. Hendrick of Fleming County, Kentucky, who
performed extensive renovations. Ann Hendrick, daughter of W. J., became the wife
of Robert Burns Wilson, poet-artist.

The above photograph is a charcoal of Arabella and her first three sons painted by
Robert Burns Wilson.
