George Reece

George Reece, age 77, of Hamilton, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, January 23, 2004, at 6:25 p.m. at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Price, Kentucky, on September 11, 1926, the son of David and Carrie (Tipton) Reece. George was a press operator at Fisher Body for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 1980. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a member of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church. George was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed woodworking and gardening. On November 16, 1946, in Brookville, Indiana, he married Shirley Skeoch.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Reece of Hamilton; eight sons, Arthur Reece and his wife Frances of Hamilton, William Reece and his wife Nancy of Hamilton, George Michael Reece of Trenton, Jack Reece and his wife Kathy of Trenton, Stanley Reece and his wife Karen of Hamilton, Chuck Reece and his wife Barb of Hamilton, James Reece and his wife Kim of Hamilton and Ronald Reece and his wife Joyce of Hamilton; four daughters, Susan Rose and her husband Clydel of Hamilton, Thelma Britt and her husband Brett of Hamilton, Barbara Bruce and her husband Kenneth of Hamilton and Nancy Washnock and her husband Kevin of Hebron, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Reece of Middletown; 47 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Reece of Trenton and Clarence Reece of Somerville; three sisters, Mary Ross of Gratis, Ann McGowan and her husband Rex of Middletown and Catherine Williams of North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Jack Skeoch and his wife Marlene of Dunkirk, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Helen Doerflein and her husband Art of Cedar Grove, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Wayne Reece; four brothers, Arthur Reece, Chris Reece, Arnold Reece and Curtis Reece; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Reece.

The family extends a special thank you to nurses, Sharon and Mary Lynn at Ft. Hamilton Hospital for their care and concern.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Zeller of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
