Breck Powell, 75, of Spurlin Trailer Park, Richmond, husband of Rita Knox Powell, died Saturday at his home after a short illness.

Mr. Powell was born September 18, 1929, in Irvine, a son of the late Taylor and Callie Baber Powell. He attended the White Oak Church of God and was a retired mechanic with Paul Miller Ford in Lexington. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Powell; and a sister, Ruth Powell.

Survivors, including his wife Rita, are: three sons, Johnny Powell and Breck (Vicki) Powell Jr., both of Irvine, and Nolan Jones Jr., of Berea; three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Bradley and Patsy (Jeff) Barnes, both of Irvine, and Candi Duffy of Richmond; two sisters and a brother, Louise Henry, Barbara Sue Hawkins and Eugene "Jip" Powell, all of Irvine; nine grandchildren, Melissa (G.B.) Kelley, Jared Powell, Tracy Harrison, Ashley Henderson, Lucas Barnes and Sarah Barnes, Michael and Lynn Duffy, and Bobbie Jones; great-grandchildren Austin and Logan Harrison, and Brooklyn Kelley.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the White Oak Church of God with Pastor Edwin Lainhart officiating. Burial will be in the Sonny Powell Cemetery, Irvine.

Pallbearers are Jimmy, Robbie, Randy and Jared Powell, Nick Edmonson, Michael Duffy and Jesse Allen Lancaster. Honorary Pallbearers are Fred Moreland, Boyd Day, Ray Dennies, Lucas Barnes, and Austin and Logan Harrison.
