Anna McCreary

Anna J. McCreary, age79, of Oxford, passed away at her residence, Sunday afternoon November 2, 2003. She was born July 16, 1924, in Estil County, Kentucky, the daughter of Andrew and Iona (Duggins) Johnson. On May 5, 1944, she married James McCreary in Eaton, Ohio. For over thirty years she worked as a cafeteria worker for the Talawanda School District. She enjoyed playing bingo at Queen of Peace parish and bowling at the Oxford Bowling Lanes.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James McCreary of Oxford; two daughters, Sue (Dale) Baird, Jr. of Perrysburg, Ohio and Chery (Ron) Baker of Oxford; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Johnson, Elvie Johnson and Andrew Johnson and three sisters, Beatrice Barnes, Nanna Cox and Pansie Hutzel. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 101 W. Church Street, Oxford. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, Ohio. The family has suggested memorial donations be sent to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 11500 Northlake Dr. Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
