CONNERSVILLE, Ind. -- Ernest Gabbard, 83, of Connersville, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004.

Born June 18, 1920, in Estill County, Ky., to Isaac and Lena King Gabbard, the U.S. Army veteran retired in 1984 as a sub assembler from Roots Blower after 34 years.

Survivors include his son, Lonnie Gabbard; daughters, Kathaleen Blaes and Lena Cupp; brother, Sam Gabbard; sister, Eva Reed.

His wife, Gladys, died Oct. 11, 1998.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with visitation 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society.
