Killed by a Mule--A Casey county correspondent of the Stanford Journal says: Another unfortunate accident took place in this county a few days since. Dr. O.P. Heiston, a prominent physician of Casey's Creek, was kicked on the head by a mule and his skull broken. The mule was said to be old and gentle, and never known to have any bad tricks before. The laast authentic news received from the doctor was that he was in a critical condition, and a late rumor comes that he is dead.

We learn that one Asa Gordon, a blacksmith, killed a man named Samuel Preston, in Casey county last week. It appears that Gordon was at work without a shirt when Preston came into the shop and struck him on the naked back with a switch, when he grasped a spoke and struck Preston killing him instantly. A man named Wheeler, who lived about four miles below Liberty, accidentally shot himself one night last week. He and a neighbor were out coon hunting, and cut down a chestnut tree. They were gathering chestnuts when a pitsol dropped from Wheeler's pocket. He picked it up and remarked that somebody would get shot. He put it back in his pocket and began picking up chestnuts when it again fell from his pocket. He again picked it up and made some remark, when a second pistol fell and was discharged, the ball striking him in the breast, killing him instantly.
