Henry F. Wooten

Henry Forest Wooten, 79 of Norway road passed away at 3:40 p. m. Thursday at the home of a son, A. L. Wooten, 1402 Summit street, where he had been 
the last week. Mr. Wooten suffered a stroke a week ago Wednesday.

Mr. Wooten was born Dec. 24, 1859, in Carter Co., Ky., a son of Charles and Sarah Hall Wooten. He was reared in Kentucky and was a farmer. 
He came to Portsmouth in 1917, during the time the Ohio river was frozen over and had lived here since, farming in the bottom lands of the Scioto river. 
Mr. Wooten had been retired the last seven years. He was a member of the Christian church.

He was the father of 14 children and 12 survive. They are Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Reid, Forest Wooten, Archie Wooten, William Wooten, James Wooten, 
A. L. Wooten, Earl Wooten, Fred Wooten, Leonard Wooten, Mrs. Myrtle Skidmore, all of Portsmouth, Mrs. Nancy Jane Roe 
and Miss Hattie Wooten of Ashville, N.C. Mr. Wooten also leaves two brothers, Clarence Wooten of Greenup county and John Wooten of Quincy; 
19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at Windel-Howland funeral Home, with Rev. W. C. Burris of Central Christian church officiating. 

Burial will be in Wheelersburg cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.
