James Samuel “Jimmy Sam” Woods (1956-2007) James Samuel “Jimmy Sam” Woods, 51, of Grayson, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1956, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Lorraine Dawson Woods of Grayson and the late Ralph Woods. Jimmy Sam was president of Woods Realty & Investment Co. and president of Ralph’s Foods Inc. He was a member of Stinson Church of Christ. Jimmy Sam was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing, and loved his dogs. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Earl Woods, in 2004. His survivors including his mother are two brothers, William Ralph Woods and Edwin Roy Woods, both of Grayson; two uncles James Woods and Roy E. Woods, both of Grayson; and three aunts, Helen Kitchen of Ashland, Vivian McCoy of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Maggie Thompson of Webbville, Ky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Grayson with John Sergent, minister. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7 at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be Christopher Woods, Robbie Woods, Doug Knipp, Danny Gifford, Jim Burton and Paul Dillon. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Humphrey and Johnny Damron.
