Wade H. Williams

GRAYSON – Wade H. Williams, 81, of Grayson, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after an extended illness.

He was born June 10, 1925, in Madison County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Alex and Esther Caldwell Williams.

Wade was a retired foreman for Sea Brook food factory in Bridgeton, New Jersey and a decorated United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Alberta Claxton of Grayson, three daughters, Connie Porter and husband Clarence of Morehead, 
Gail Owens and husband Sherman of Ashland, Janet Hollenback and husband John of Maryland; 
five grandchildren, Travis Porter of Lexington, Anthony Owens of Ashland, Samantha Craft of Greenup and Grace Ella Porter of Lexington; 
two great-great-grandchildren, Jake and Jackie Owens of Catlettsburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Earl Gene Williams and his granddaughter Stephanie Williams.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be conducted Friday, April 27, 11 a.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. 
Tom Riffe will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Smith/Claxon Cemetery. 
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home. Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
