Jerry Clarence Wilcox
Jerry Clarence Wilcox, 91, of Mancelona, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care.
He was born March 1, 1913 in Grahn, Ky., the son of Robert and Rosie (Nolen) Wilcox.
He resided in Olive Hill, Ky., until 1940. While living in Olive Hill he spent many years as a police officer. Upon moving to Mancelona in 1940 he was employed by Gulf and Western until his retirement in 1982. Along with working for Gulf and Western, he spent several years helping to build the Mackinac Bridge. 
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; a daughter, Donna Phllips; four brothers, Ernie, Earl, Roy and Junior, and two sisters, Goldie Wilcox and Mabel Smith, as well as his parents.
Surviving are a son, Donald Wilcox of Traverse City; a brother Jim (Ruby) Wilcox of Detroit; two sisters, Lottie Black of Arcadia, Fla., and Esther Patten of Detroit, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, at 1 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. 
Visitation will take place from noon until time of services. Yousef "Yogi" Jabara will officiate. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
