Kentucky GenWeb projectTHE VALLEY INDEPENDENT (Monessen, Pennsylvania) Saturday, November 23, 1996 Hobert Whitt, 78, of 1002 Monongahela St., Belle Vernon, died Friday, Nov. 22, 1996, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Grayson, Ky., on Sep. 27, 1928, a son of the late Tildon and Pearl Whitt. Mr. Whitt was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include two sons, John P. Whitt and Jack E. Whitt both of Pittsburgh; one brother, Homer Whitt of Akron, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the James C. Stump funeral Home, Inc. Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
