William “Bill” Glenn Wentz - 1930-2007

William “Bill” Glenn Wentz, aka Handsome Bill, 77, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2007, 
in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Hal Edward and Jean Phipps Wentz.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, making hats for special occasions and going to McDonald’s and brightening everyone’s day with free hugs. 
He lived his life with honor, dignity, character and a distinct sense of humor. He was a manager of mining operations in Kentucky and Ohio 
for Harbison-Walker Refactories, an Army Korean veteran and a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Edward Wentz, in 2000; two sisters, Josephine Shumate and Lolita Gilliland; 
and a niece with whom he was raised, Lynn Grose.

He came from a close-knit, loving family that included his loving wife and companion of 55 years, Betty K. Browning Wentz. 
His other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Mickey Franks of Denton; a sister, Doris Adams of Huntington; 
five grandchildren, Becky Wentz Clark, Katie Wentz, Micah Franks, Marit Franks and Marcy Frank; and a great-grandchild, Audrey Glenn Clark.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Church of Christ by ministers Dr. Donald Damron and Tim Carper. 
Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospital Hospitality House, 2801 S. Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
