Barbara Pope 

1934-2003 

Barbara Waggoner Pope, 69, of Grayson, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, at her residence following an extended illness. 

Barbara was born May 7, 1934, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late O.C. "Chip" and Clarice Buck Waggoner. 

Her husband, Robert G. "Bob" Pope, preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2003. 

She was of the Baptist faith, was a teacher at Shellrock School during the 1960's, was employed as a mental health caseworker in the 1970's 
and was owner and operator of Open Hearth Gift Shop on Landsdowne Avenue in Grayson in the 1980's. Barbara was also a member of El Hasa "Motorettes". 
She loved and was an avid collector of antiques and collectibles. 

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Dan Boster, Belinda and Woody Burchett and Denise and Jim Burnett, all of Grayson; 
three grandchildren, Robert Hignite, Treva Burnett and Stacey Salyers; and two brothers, Larry D. Waggoner of Russell, Ky., 
and William E. "Bill Buck" Waggoner of Grayson. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Rae Womack. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Jesse Fyffe officiating. 
Burial will follow in East Carter County Memory Gardens. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 
1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
