Kentucky GenWeb projectGeorgetta Stamper POAGE TEACHER FOUND DEAD AT RESIDENCE Ashland Daily Independent Sunday, September 21, 1975 Mrs. Georgetta P. Stamper, 29, of 4803 Sherwood Dr., a teacher at Poage Elementary School, was dead on arrival at King's Daughters' Hospital Saturday evening. Boyd County Coroner Russell Compton ruled carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of death. Sgt. Tom Kelley of the Ashland Police Department, who investigated, said Mrs. Stamper's body was found by her husband, Robert, on the floor of their garage. Police were notified at 5:26 p.m. Mrs. Stamper was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Carter County, a daughter of Woodrow and Evelyn Rieves Tripplett of Ashland. She was a member of the National, Kentucky and Ashland Education Associations, the Order of the Eastern Star of Grayson and the First Methodist Church. Additional survivors include two sons, Robert B. Stamper, Jr. and Dwight David Stamper, both at home; and a sister, Mrs. Robert Cook of Titusville, Fla. The body is at the Lazear Funearl Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
