Jack Stone 

1923-2003 

Jack Stone, 80, of Midland Trail, Grayson, passed away Dec. 9 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. 

He was born June 30, 1923, in Carter County, the son of the late Everett and Lucy Rogers Stone. 

He was a former employee of Fields Branch Coal Company in the 1940's and 1950's, a crane operator for Mansbach Metal in Ashland for 27 years and a self employed home builder. He was of the Church of God faith. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Gennive Adkins Stone; three daughters, Judith Warneld and Rosa Stone, both of Grayson, and Pamela Mahoney of Flatwoods; two sons, Robbie Stone of Grayson and Jackie Stone of New Market, Md.; four sisters, Mary Everman and Pearl Adkins, both of Grayson, Marie Gier of Kansas City, Mo., and Montie Smith of Van Wert, Ohio; two brothers, Everett Stone Jr. of Lexington and Ova Stone of Grayson; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were three brothers, Chester Stone, Ralph Stone and George Stone, and one sister, Gertrude Bagley. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Avery Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home.
