George Otto Steele

George Otto Steele, 90, of Grayson, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 3, 2004, after a long illness.

He was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Carter County, a son of the late Julia Belle Steele. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, 
a member of the Barretts Creek Baptist Church for the past 25 years, where he had done great works for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Belle Newland Steele.

His other survivors include three sons, John Steele and his wife, Alice, George Steele and his wife, Ada, and Clarence Steele, all of Grayson; 
three daughters, Alberta Cotton and her husband, Milford, and Jewell Elliott and her husband, Lowell, all of Grayson, and Sue Taylor of Crescent Springs; 
15 grandchildren, Orlann Cotton, Milberta (David) McKiney, John Curtis (Diane) Steele, Ellen Sue (Roger) Justice, Cindy (Duane) Suttles, 
Missy (Scott) Wallace, Cloma Jean (John) Hall, Lowell Eugene (Angel) Elliott, Trina (David) Pennington, Travis Steele, 
Kelly (Darren) Woyce and Phillip Felty; 20 great-grandchildren, Bradley and Sommer Cotton, Scotti Sue (Jason) Salyers, Teresa Joy Justice, 
Nadalee and Kerrie Steele, Kelly Suttles, Stephanie Wallace, Johnny Gene Hall, Kristy (Jeremy) Thompson, Michael and Snowy Hall, 
Tabitha and Rebecca Hall, Treyden Elliott, Kyle McCown, Garrett and William Pennington, Jaelyn Steele and Josh Felty; 
one step grandchild, Amber Rigsby; four great-great grandchildren, Austin Thompson, Cheyene and Sierra Allen and Janie May Salyers; 
and two very dear friends, Cheryl Huffman and Jerry Weimer.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Barretts Creek Baptist Church by ministers Brian Bush and Lowell Elliott. 
Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
