William Everett "Dad" Stamper, 87, of 216 College St., Grayson, died Wednesday in Elmwood Village Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mr. Stamper was born Aug. 27, 1896, in Carter County, a son of the late Isaac and Henrietta Buckley Stamper. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Prichard Stamper.

He was a retired caretaker of Prichard High School with 21 years service, and a member of First Christian Church of Grayson.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Carroll of Grayson; two sons, Gerald Stamper and Vernon Stamper, both of Grayson; 
a brother, Charlie Edward Stamper of Grayson; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be conducted today at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by the Rev. Lewis Davis. Burial was in Grayson Memorial Park.
