STONE Portsmouth Times Thursday, March 6, 1958 VANCEBURG,KY. - Mrs. Martha Belle Stamper Stone, 81 of St. Paul, Ky., died March 6, 1958 at 3:40 am in Portsmouth General Hospital. Mrs. Stone was the widow of W. T. Stone, Sheriff and Judge in Lewis County for a number of years. Born March 18, 1976, in Carter County, Ky., Mrs. Stone was a daughter of Jackson and Susan Fannin Stamper. Surviving are three sons, Taft, at home, a former Lewis County Judge; Arthur of Sarasota, Fla.; and Luther of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Manilla Childress of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Dorothy Van Winkle of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Lowder of South Shore, and a brother, Winfield Stamper of Smokey Valley, Ky. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons and her husband. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 8, 1958 at 2 p.m. at Vanceburg Christian Church with Rev. Stanley Shippey officiating. Burial was in Stone Cemetery at Camp Dix, Kentucky, under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home.
