Alvin Stamper        
1917 - 2004 

Alvin J. “Preacher” Stamper, age 87, of Grayson, KY, passed away Thursday, October 28th, 2004 at Carter Nursing & Rehab Center. 
He was born January 8th, 1917 at Grayson, a son of the late Shadrick and Eunis Everman Stamper. 

Mr. Stamper was retired from the State & County Highway Dept. and was a Farmer. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was of the Baptist Faith. 


Preceding him in death was his wife, Elieen Stamper in 1989; 5 brothers, Clyde, Marion, Walter, Merle, and Leslie “Buck” Stamper; 
six sisters, Annie Gee, Nora Wilson, Inez Callihan, Betty DeBoard, Clara Littleton and Manie Stamper. 


His survivors include: 2 sons: Larry Stamper and Gary Stamper both of Grayson;  a sister: Blanche Marion of Maryland.  
4 grandchildren: Brian Stamper of San Francisco, CA; Melissa Wilson,  Mary Beth Carter and Melinda Dawn Stamper all of Grayson.  
1 great-granddaughter: Lakin Sierra Wilson of Grayson ; 1 great-grandson: Timothy Chase Carter 

Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 1st, 2004 at 11:00am at the Malone Funeral Home with Lewis Davis and Billy T. Rice, ministers. 
Burial was in the Adkins Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening, October 31st, from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
